Last weekend, two of my roommates and I went for a walk in the rain. And when I say rain I mean the lightest sprinkling possible. It was so beautiful out, with the overcast sky and the rain melting away the snow. We walked to the provo bakery and ate some treats. When we turned around to leave, we noticed that we were now stuck inside the bakery while noahs flood was happening outside. We had to call for a ride home (a whole 5 blocks). But I managed to get a few shots in before we started drowning. What a trap!

It's 2009. Resolution time. I don't have one. Well maybe I do, it just hasn't been formed into words. Maybe be a better blogger? Maybe be "nicer"? Maybe go to school for a change this semester? Maybe be kinder to my landlord? Maybe be kinder to my body? Maybe clean out from under my fingernails and behind my ears more often? Maybe wash my clothes more? Alright, alright. So what. I've been growing dreds. So what everyone's been on my back about it. So what right? Well, when someone started throwing money in for the price of my precious locks leaving my head, I started to reconsider. So it was decided, the tainted hair would come out. Easier said than done. Ha.

Hour 1: Most of the end of the dred has been successfully removed

Hour 2: Making a bit of headway

Somewhere in between all the pain

Only about 1/4th the size of what was really torn out

Hour 3: One quart of conditioner later. (only im not kidding) Mind you, that's not including the rest of my hair

Hour 3.5: The final product. Ignore the look on my face. It was well past midnight and I had been practically scalped for the past 3.5 hours

So there, I did it. 9 months worth of uncombed hair, only took a mere three and a half hours to completely detangle. Aka: totally worth it. I pry wont comb out my hair for another year or so I hate it so much.

K- is for kind. As in the kind of person you wanna hang around with all day. As in, she cooks me yummy food when i'm at her place and takes me out to yummy places to eat i.e. del taco. She is great at letting people borrow her stuff and she never gets mad when people take stuff without asking.
A- is for American Indian. Hailing from Arizona, Katie comes complete with her own wolf and feathers!

T- is for tan. It must be the Indian blood coursing through her veins. (She's part skinwalker you know.) I only came home to California to try and become blacker than her.
I- is for IIUU. Or as urbandictionary.com puts it, IIUU "Stands for "illegal, immoral, unhealthy, unsafe." Applies to a lot of things. Used by several youth groups as a mantra or a sign of solidarity or pledging. You'll often see graffiti of it in rough urban areas. Pronounced double I double U." Cool huh? I love it. Definitely K.
E- is for effing rad. I would have put the real word on but her name's not Kaftie. Thanks K for being so rad and wearing your grammas shoes so we had something to talk about our first dutch sesh together. You have hot hair, hot kicks and hot threads. Miss your face.

Besides the lack of new posts (please forgive me one and all), there are a few other things that I've been lacking. Such as things to do, places to go, a closet, and a bed. Sharing a hot stuffy room with two of my younger sisters is already taking its toll. The ever decreasing 83$ left in my bank account is also a persistent reminder of my desperate need of a place with decent pay that's willing to hire some poor college kid in need of a job for less than 2 months.

What I hate more than anything is people telling me how to do my job. It may be surprising I understand, but I have been properly trained for the position I hold. But it really erks my chain when people feel the need to not listen to me or disobey my orders. I.e the stupid lady who came over last night at work and asked me to clean up her stupid bloody leg. Asking for Kleenex to wipe it up (which would have obviously gotten stuck in her open wound) and then rejecting my offer of an alcohol prep pad to clean the wound because "it would sting". Fine. So I gave her a gauze pad and shoved it up her stupid fat arse.

Also, I have a spanish paper due at 2pm today. Which I havent started. Hello online translator.

Twilight. Ok so I've been boarding obsession with the book for about the past five years now. Reading and rereading. I've endured many a cruel word for the plain and simple fact that I cannot and will not be parted with the book. After entering the magical and envious world for the first time, as soon as I hit page 498, back I went to page 1 to lose myself in it's pages for the second time in a row. Regardless of anyone may think of this fixation of mine, I remain obstinate in my decision. Giving me a new determination to never settle for anything less than my own form of vampiric lifeblood (pardon the pun).

Valentines Day. A day of dancing teddy bears. God-awful love songs. Candlelit dinners for two. What the hell.

Nauseating, isn't it?

Though many couples and singles do something special to mark the occasion, almost as many on both sides of the relationship aisle confess to loathing the sugary day of romance and the stress, depression, guilt and disappointment that bubble to the surface when it arrives, maddeningly, year after year. Valentine’s Day has gone the same way as Christmas, it has been hijacked to supply the paper market. Saint Valentine used to be the patron saint of lovers, now he seems to be the patron saint of card makers.
Reasons to hate Valentines Day:
1. Valentines Day makes people afraid to start dating someone
2. Valentines Day is a disaster for those who enjoy ahem..."dating around"
3. It causes relationships to linger...too long

Now im not going to complain about my own relationship status because I happen to be quite content for the time being. So in order to not be a complete Scrooge this Valentines season, I have put together a short list of things that I do love.

1. The Family. (ok sue me. who doesnt love theirs?)
2. My crew. Ranging in ages from 17-27, I do love them all for being the greatest anyone could ask for. And for being so damn indie.
3. Double dutching. The rhythmic thud of the ropes is one of the best sounds.
4. The feel of the sand on my feet, sun on my back, and the spray of the ocean on my face (too cliche? I don't give a damn. It's Valentines day.)
5. Those days you leave the house feeling like a million bucks.
6. Anything indie. Duh. I love the word indie. I love indie clothes indie bands indie do's indie films and especially indie gossip blogs. Hello provo push slash cush.

So we are all (hopefully) relatively aware of the so called "Secret-menu" In'n'Out serves. Including items such as animal style burgers and fries, the Triple Threat, and the Flying Dutchman. Also the menu does not only stop at 4x4 but would probably go on into infinity (or as big as your stomach can handle of course. Or your wallet for that matter). Personally, anytime I go I have to get a 2x3 with animal style fries. Of course, I don't eat anything for the next week and a half, but it's usually well worth it.
Getting back onto topic however, I discovered the other day that Jamba Juice also in fact has a "Secret-menu" as well! The entire menu consists of "unhealthy" smoothies named after things that would involve copyright violations were they to be included on the menu. Ive been doing some research of my own on this and specific ones I know exist are:

although not quite a music video, arcade fire's new promo clip is nonetheless smart and quite catchy. an interactive video that storyline varies depending on the controlling of the viewer. ok so i know its a bit late but what you gonna do about it. while sitting in church i thought of a list of the top 10 life changing tunes of 07.
10. bonde do role "solta o frango (bitchee bitchee ya ya ya remix)
i love bonde do role as much as i do a good sushi roll. and i love this mix more than anything. it really gets good around the middle. kinda sounds like fifty different stereos are blaring in your ears all at once. so great.
9. justice "d.a.n.c.e."
the name says it all. sounding almost like a tune straight out of the 80's, justice blew me away with their new album. its melodies ping with carefully-plotted arrangements; its beats groan as if they’re about to be crushed by giant speakers; its bass grooves with fierce independence.
8. kanye west "flashing lights"
when browsing through this album and i stumbled upon number 9. the strings in the intro captured my attention. as soon as the bass and computer generated syncopated clapping came into play, i knew it was love. a dancetastic fusion of hip-hop and electronica, the song is so great you can even forgive kanye for using the worst line in history.
7. chris brown ft. t pain "kiss kiss"
we love rap music. this song is far more honest than anything he's recorded thus far: and a really clear representation of where Chris Brown is going. even though i wasnt floored by the rest of the album, "kiss kiss" sure gets me bumpin n grindin.
6. deefhoof "perfect me"
“The Perfect Me” features a fast-paced woodblock beat reminiscent of a sped-up ‘60 score to a chase scene. and ok, so this one didnt come out in 07, but discovering this song last year really rocked my world.
5. uffie "pop the glock"
only 19 years old, uffie has stirred up quite a fuss in the underground/hip-hop scene. although perhaps not the most lyrically mindblowing songs, her kick ass attitude really comes across through her music. this song might be hard to categorize, but definitely at the tops of 2007.
4. radiohead "15 step"
The result of radioheads much anticipated new album is instrumentally and stylistically diverse; sweeping strings are heavily prevalent. while intensity of both electronic and alternative proportions are echoed in the infectious "15 step".
3. arcade fire "keep the car running"
The band’s recurring imagery summons equal dread and beauty—vehicles, oceans, and darkness all get a workout. "keep the car running"'s energetic majesty makes it one of the most memorable songs of the album.
2. css "music is my hot hot sex"
a sophisticated mash of indie, '80s pop, disco and electro, this song has taken provo over by storm. if it weren't so much fun, it would be really objectionable. But if it wasn't so objectionable, it certainly wouldn't be this much fun.
and last but definitely not least
1. britney spears "piece of me"
most people first tuned into this album hoping for a glimpse of the trainwreck spears has become. however many people were disappointed when they discovered just the opposite. it is a brilliant statement that rewards careful listening. "Piece of Me" is one reason why you will want to listen to it again and again and again.
so congrats britney you blew us all away once again

Alright! 16 year old Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant! Congrats mom! About 12 weeks along now, she's really following big sisters footsteps.

lately ive gone on a music downloading rampage. most current obsession? the new britney spears album. dgp. ive never been all that into britney, but Blackout absolutely blew me away. Her newest album, aptly named for "blacking out negativity and embracing life" has a much more eff-off, in your face, attitude which i love. Critic Jim Farber said about the album, "If a blow-up sex doll could sing, this is what she'd sound like". How great is that? Some tracks even feature Pharell Williams doing backup vocals...yes please. Definitely my favorite track would have to be "Piece of Me". Favorite line, "I’m Mrs. 'Most Likely To Get On TV For Strippin’ On The Streets'". Yea she went there. Who cares what other critics say, she definitely moved up to Top 8 in my book.

With that being said, I don't understand alot of things. Like why peanut butter tastes so darn good. Or why someone would pour an entire bottle of Mr. Bubbles into a hot tub and NOT stay to enjoy the fruits of their labour. Or why all clothes from DI smell exactly the same for an extended period of time after purchase. Next time your there take a whiff of the clothes. Ive never smelled laundry detergent that smells quite like their clothes do. I just don't get it.

I went out to dinner with a friend from back home last night. And we spent over $55 dollars on our dinner for two.

Worth every cent.

Longest day of my life. Doing absolutely nothing. I only stepped out of my apartment to buy some chocolate milk. But then regretted it because sometimes I just want to cut my wrists and black my eyes being home with these people. But thanks again to the brothers and sisters who visited me. sure put a skip in my step.

Most of my days I am quite preoccupied with procrastinating. I can spend hours and hours avoiding my homework and studying. And this is the man I'd like to thank for that.

Toying with death is not fun. Nor does it feel good. Nor does it do anything for one's stress levels.
Riding bikes is not safe. Riding bikes alone, late at night, minus a helmet is also not safe. Thus, the reason I spent most of my day in the emergency room. At this current point in time, my head feel like my brain is about to slop out of the backside. And my left glute is definately feeling the pain as well. Everyones invited over to my place for a pity party tonight.

Lame day. Three hours of spanish. Lunch semi-alone. Mostly just full of lameness and gayness. Watched Gossip Girls. And yes I am now officially, an addict. Sue me. Dutched it out tonight underground style. Word to all in attendance. Got some noobs out there. And as usual, everyone hella stepped it up. Serrously, one of these days someone's gonna levitate and I think my brain will implode. As quoted by Patrick, "if you weren't in the basement tonight, you're a faggot." Word.

Things I have a personal vendetta against:
*toe rings-they look ridiculous, they are uncomfortable, and are just downright stupid.
*long delay texters-Im making no personal attacks, merely stating the facts.
*crocs-for obvious reasons
*the RB stairs-also for obvious reasons
*armbands and anklets

The great saga of blogging. It feels strange, actually. Talking, opening up to noone in particular. I feel out of the loop. This great loop of thousands and thousands of individuals with whom I am now connected to. I do not know the amount of eyes these simple words may reach. Perhaps none. But here they remain nonetheless. For noone in particular but me. I feel like I shouldn't write anything more than a mere introduction. Then again, I'm not yet familiar with the proper blogging etiquette. I'm also not quite sure why I'm writing so formally. Seeing as how my day-to-day vocabulary consists of mostly "rad" "dammit" "wtf" and lots and lots of "like"s. I guess blogging really can change a person.

Random Fact:
I have been sitting, waiting by my phone for 4.7 hours now.
Still nothing.
